A Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination is required for every UPS employee that operates UPS vehicles. UPS will pay for the exam.

Drivers must register for their DOT physical through UPSers and ensure that the medical provider you intend to use is approved by the Company.

DOT physicals are valid for up to 24 months.

DOT physicals must be conducted by a licensed "medical examiner" listed on the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCS) National Registry. Once the exam is completed the provider will fax the completed exam to the HRSC. HRS representatives will review DOT Physicals for completion and certification and will notify employee and management of status.

Some drivers may be eligible for a federal DOT exemption for certain medical conditions.

An individual may apply for a Federal exemption from the vision, seizure, and/or hearing standard if the individual does not meet the current standard. In order to do so, please visit the following website for instructions:
