When supervisors take bargaining unit work it means lower paychecks and fewer hours for you and your fellow Teamsters. The best defense against supervisors working is YOU! Make sure you file a grievance if you catch a supervisor doing bargaining unit work and follow the steps below to protect yourself and your Teamster sisters and brothers.

William J Cooke Memorial Scholarship

The William J. Cooke Memorial Scholarship Fund awards scholarships to the children and grandchildren of Local 623 members who have at least 12 months of consecutive membership in good standing. The application deadline is March 31.

Getting on the 9.5 List

Local 623 has given management the names of Package Car Drivers who want to be on the 9.5 list for the next five months. The new 9.5 list will take effect on January 15 and stay in effect through June 15. 

Shop Steward Elections

All shop steward elections will be held the last week of January. Elections will begin on Monday, January 27. Steward elections for package drivers will start on Tuesday, January 28 so Tuesday-Saturday drivers can participate. By the end of that week all steward elections should be completed. 

New Day in Local 623

Thank you to all the members for turning out to the General Membership Meeting. The Executive Board took the oath of office and members were sworn in as Teamsters.
