Joan has been increasingly active in Local 623 starting with the last two contract fights: "I’ve spent the last 6-7 years traveling the country educating myself" said Miller. She hopes the Women's Caucus will provide a space for Teamster women to get more involved:

"One of the things I’ve learned throughout this process is that women Teamsters have workplace issues that are specific to us. We could use a resource to help us deal with, and solve workplace problems and more!"

Joan has been a Teamster for 27 Years and a package driver for 15.

The caucus will host meetings and plan a variety of events. All Teamsters Local 623 women members in good standing are eligible for membership. Contact Joan-Elaine Miller for more information and to learn how to get involved.
