Teamsters Local 623 members delivered the first Coronavirus vaccines in the Philadelphia area this morning. The first shipments of the COVID-19 vaccine were delivered this morning by Stephen Kudless a proud Local 623 driver. "It was a monumental opportunity and experience." said Kudless.

With government officials from the Center for Disease Control, camera crews, and pharmacy directors present Kudless described the experience as "surreal." According to local health officials the first dosage of the vaccine will be prepared and injected tomorrow morning.

Teamster Local 623 drivers, warehouse workers, and helpers will be a major part of delivering the vaccine to millions in the Philadelphia Metro Area. Richard Hooker Jr. talked to WorkWeek about the role of Teamsters in delivering the vaccine.

Throughout the pandemic these workers have braved often hazardous working conditions to deliver needed packages and goods and now they will be among the most essential in delivering an end to the coronavirus crisis.
